For Los Angeles designer Mary Smilove, red and green just don’t capture the
sunny California spirit. So she dreamed up a pink and blue holiday. (top left) Vintage and contemporary ornaments. A sequined party dress makes a dazzling

(center) Is it a retro Hollywood dressing room? Surprise! It’s a
working craft studio. The presents under the tree need no gift wrap—the
largest
is a rosy French champagne box, and the others are signature

started. A figurine lamp converted into a display piece offers presents
for each
of the 12 Days of Christmas. Gift pouches tied to the
base are
numbered with
stamped tags. Pink paper fringe added
to wrapping paper
creates a party effect.
